About Veronica

Veronica has always shared a connection to animals; however, she began her canine training and rehabilitation endeavor when she realized the cruel reality that dogs face in our society today.
She started working with rescue dogs that had been abandoned and left to die in the desert and in rural areas. Sadly, some dogs could not be saved due to the severity of their health and mental state. After understanding the benefits of positive reinforcement, she concentrated on helping the emotional state of these animals with hopes of finding them loving and caring homes where they could enhance both their new family’s life as well as their own.

This is when she realized the importance and power of the human-dog bond. Through Positive training people and dogs could assist each other in fulfilling their needs.
Veronica was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes at age 9. As an adult she developed multiple severe complications due to diabetes which lead to her Kidney and Pancreas transplant in 2005.

Today, Veronica is no longer a Diabetic, however, she knows and understands, first hand, the effects Diabetes can have on your life and those around you. Diabetic Alert Dogs can provide a tool to better glucose control and emotional support to people who are insulin dependant.

Veronica understands that every dog and owner is different. This is why she not only takes training methods in consideration but more importantly the principals of training. She creats a customized learning experience to help the human-dog team achieve thier goals.
